About Us
King School’s PTO is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that supports the schools mission of “Keeping The Dream Alive Everyday.” We are a membership organization that welcomes all parents and guardians of King School students and all school faculty, all of whom are automatically members. Members are entitled to one vote on any issue before a general membership meeting of the PTO. The vote will be decided by a majority of members present at a given meeting.

Meet the Board

Tiffany Walther President
Tiffany Walther grew up attending AAPS and is excited for her children to do the same. She has a 2nd grader and a 5th grader at King. This will be her 4th year serving as the PTO Board President, with one year prior as Co-President, and she looks forward to continuing working with the school and the King Community. She enjoys taking her children to the pool, family movie nights, and dinners out with friends. She is also active in her children’s theater group as well as her neighborhood association. She has previously worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Toyota in Ann Arbor, and Life Fitness in Chicago.

Katie Dobbie Vice-President
Katie Dobbie will be entering her 5th year as a King parent and her 4th as King PTO vice president. She has 3 daughters, her oldest is in 4th grade, her middle one in 1st, and her youngest can’t wait to join her sisters next year. She enjoys being an active volunteer in the classroom and school community. She obtained her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan and currently works part-time as a geriatric physical therapist. She loves traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She is looking forward to another wonderful year with the King staff and students, working together to promote an enriched environment for all!

Ann Lin Secretary
Ann Lin is serving her 4th year as PTO Secretary — and 10th year as a King parent! She originally joined the King PTO Board to help bridge the knowledge gap left in the wake of Covid. She truly enjoys helping make our school more equitable, welcoming, and loves meeting new families along the way.
Ann currently has a 3rd grader at King. She also has a 10th grader at Huron and a 6th grader at Clague. She is grateful to be part of such a vibrant school community and is looking forward to another great year at King!

Lindsey Kerkez, Co-Treasurer
Lindsey Kerkez is in her 6th year as a King parent with one daughter in 5th grade and another in Kindergarten. This is her third year as co-treasurer. Professionally, Lindsey is an environmental engineer specializing in climate mitigation and water infrastructure resilience for municipal governments. She leads projects at an Ann Arbor based start-up that uses tech to tackle flooding challenges and manage stormwater. As a Florida native, Lindsey may never get used to midwestern winters but has embraced the warmth of the Ann Arbor community. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Sara Hammerschmidt, Co-Treasurer
Sara Hammerschmidt is the new co-Treasurer for the 2025-26 school year. Sara is in her fourth year as a King parent, with twins (a son and a daughter) in 3rd grade. She chaired the Silent Auction during the 2024-25 school year and is excited to be more involved in the King PTO. Sara has an undergraduate degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Masters and a PhD in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin. She is currently on the development team for Veridian at County Farm, a new residential community near County Farm Park, and is in her third term as a planning commissioner for the city of Ann Arbor.
