What is the Silent Auction?
The King Silent Auction is the PTO’s biggest annual fundraiser, supporting King Elementary students, teachers, and staff. All proceeds go directly toward classroom resources, teacher grants, field trips, school supplies, and programs that enrich our school community.
What makes this event truly special is that many of the auction offerings aren’t just items, they’re experiences created by our own community. Think teacher-led cooking classes, mom’s night out gatherings, themed dinners, game nights, art projects, and other fun activities hosted by King families and staff. Families “win” spots by bidding, and these experiences often become some of the most memorable moments of the year.
Despite the name, it’s not a traditional auction, it’s a welcoming, community-focused evening where the real value comes from connecting with others and supporting King Elementary. Whether you donate an experience, attend, bid, or simply come enjoy the night, we hope you’ll be part of this wonderful King tradition!
Frequently Asked Questions
We call it an “auction,” but the name is part of the fun, no fast-talking auctioneers or priceless antiques here! The King Silent Auction is a community-building fundraiser where families and teachers donate creative experiences, like dinner parties, cooking lessons, game nights, art projects, or special school outings. A silent auction works through a sign-up sheet where people write down their bids. Others can outbid them during the event, and when the bidding period ends, the highest bid wins the experience. It’s a simple, friendly way to have fun, connect with the community, and support King Elementary.
Sign up up will be available closer to the date.
Not at all! It’s a big, fun event with lots to do. “Silent” means there isn’t a live auctioneer calling out each item.
Bring CASH or have your VENMO ready for food & snacks, raffle tickets, and wine pull.
Every item is displayed on tables in the gym and has a bid sheet. You put a bid on the item you want, going higher than the person’s bid. But come back to check on it—you can get outbid quickly!
Of course! There will be activities and fun for the kids. This is a family event.
We will have pizza, drinks and snacks for purchase.
There’s truly something for everyone at the Silent Auction. All items and experiences are generously donated by King families, teachers, and local businesses, with every dollar raised directly supporting King students and staff. Here’s a glimpse of what you might find:
- Restaurant and entertainment gift cards: enjoy a meal out, a concert, a play, or a visit to a local museum.
- Getaway packages: hotel stays and weekend escapes donated by generous sponsors.
- Teacher experiences: special outings, lessons, or activities hosted by your child’s favorite teachers.
- Community-hosted events — themed dinners, cocktail nights, and game nights where families “win” a spot to attend.
- Curated baskets — beautifully arranged collections like book bundles, wellness sets, or family fun kits.
- Group activities — sign-up parties, parent socials, and creative workshops for adults and kids alike.
- Raffle baskets — buy a ticket (or several) for a chance to win themed baskets filled with great prizes.
- Wine Pull — purchase a mystery bottle valued at $20 or more; some bottles are worth over $50, and every pull is a win.
Whether you’re bidding on a unique experience, testing your luck in the raffle, or discovering a new favorite bottle at the Wine Pull, every contribution supports the programs and opportunities that make King Elementary such a special community.
The King Silent Auction relies on the generosity and creativity of our community to make it a success! Families, teachers, and neighbors are invited to donate items or experiences that bring people together and create memorable moments. This could be a home-cooked meal, a “learn to make” cooking experience, a game night, a kids’ movie night, a mini-concert, or anything else that reflects your talents and passions. You can donate individually or team up with other families to host a shared experience.
All donations will be featured at the auction on Friday, March 13, 2026.
